The developments of the last 24 hours in the election campaign for the 29 June elections show that the political forces of the communist rebellion are turning the country’s election campaign into a farce. There have been numerous acts of sabotage, damage and destruction of the electoral offices and electoral activities of the Democratic Party, recreating an atmosphere of terror and violence. Only in the city of Durrës, during the early hours of 27 June, gunfire was directed at the PD election headquarters, where hundreds of its members and supporters were present. In the city of Elbasan and many other cities, the convoys of senior PD officials have been attacked and robbed. Likewise, on 26 June, the perpetrators of the Cërrik massacre and the organizers of the kidnapping of police officers in Poliçan, released peacefully by government decision, organized an anti-government rally in the center of Poliçan with slogans such as “Down with the Government of National Reconciliation”. The 17 candidates of the left-wing coalition crowned, in a communist rally with Enver Hoxha, the recent past of the red nomenklatura and its current platform of political revenge. Despite the fact that the Government of National Reconciliation was created by full consensus and through an act signed at the Presidency by all the leaders of the political parties, including the Socialist Party, in recent days the National Reconciliation Committee dominated by communists has turned into an unconstitutional organization that seeks by every means to prevent the elections and seize power by force. This has recently been demonstrated by public and ultimative threats not to hold elections. These developments and extremist positions are clear proof that the communist rebellion recognizes no law, no institution, and no decision that runs counter to its goals of taking power by force. On the contrary, it seeks by all means to overthrow the constitutional order, destroy the elections, and impose a new ideological dictatorship on Albania. The government, by order of the National Reconciliation Committee, asked the Ministry of Defense to stop the PD’s closing rally in Tirana, using the ceremony held in the stadium as justification. This stance is an expression of political bias and of the use of state institutions against the democratic opposition. But, despite the obstacles, Albanian citizens have made it clear through their massive participation in PD rallies that they are for peace, order, law, and the final end of the rebellion once and for all. Albanian men and women, Albania is at the most decisive moment of its modern history. Tomorrow you will vote not only for the new parliament, but also for the fate of peace, stability and the existence of the rule of law. I urge you to vote massively, to vote without fear, to vote with confidence in the future. Your vote will be the greatest punishment for those who wanted to plunge the country into civil war, rebellion and misery. We have life and victory from God. With your vote, tomorrow the rebellion comes to an end.
